Welcome to the Polestar Mentorship Programme at Iso Fit

Article Summary

As a Polestar Pilates student, you have access to comprehensive mentorship services at Iso Fit, an official Polestar host studio. This guide covers three categories of services: unsupervised activities (self-practice, practice teaching, and observation without direct educator supervision), supervised mentorship activities (training with authorized Polestar educators or mentors), and discounted classes (reduced rates for regular classes). Services are available from the time you register for your course through your certification exam, supporting your entire Polestar journey.

Welcome to the Polestar Mentorship Programme at Iso Fit

Iso Fit is proud to serve as an official Polestar host studio, welcoming Polestar students to utilize our professional studio environment throughout your certification journey. We're committed to supporting your development as a Pilates professional through practical learning opportunities, observation experiences, and exam preparation resources.

Who These Services Apply To: Definition of "Current Polestar Student"

You qualify as a current Polestar student and are eligible for these services if you meet any of the following criteria:

✓ Currently Enrolled in an Active Course You are actively attending a Polestar Mat, Reformer, or Comprehensive/Studio course

✓ Registered for an Upcoming Course You have registered and paid for a Polestar course that will begin in the future

✓ Registered for an Upcoming Exam You have registered for a Polestar certification exam, even if you've completed your coursework

Course Types That Qualify:

  • Polestar Mat Course students

  • Polestar Reformer Course students

  • Polestar Comprehensive/Studio Course students

Service Categories Overview

Iso Fit offers three distinct categories of services to support your Polestar training:

1. Unsupervised Activities Self-directed practice, teaching, and observation with no mentor or educator actively instructing you. These activities allow you to independently work on your skills using studio equipment and facilities.

2. Supervised Mentorship Activities Direct training with authorized Polestar educators or mentors. These sessions provide personalized guidance, feedback, and structured learning.

3. Discounted Group Classes Reduced rates for attending regular Iso Fit group classes, allowing you to learn from experienced instructors and practice in a class environment.

Category 1: Unsupervised Activities

What Are Unsupervised Activities?

Unsupervised activities are self-directed sessions where no mentor or educator is present to provide direct instruction. These sessions allow you to independently practice movements, refine techniques, observe classes, prepare for exams, and conduct teaching practice on your own schedule.

Key Characteristic: While a staff member must be present in the studio for safety and security, they are not actively teaching or supervising your practice.

💡 IMPORTANT: Unsupervised activities require a mentorship package or single session payment. See pricing information below or here

1.1 Self-Practice Sessions

What's Included: Access to studio space and equipment to practice your Pilates skills and refine your technique independently.

Available Spaces:

Group Room: Available when group classes are not scheduled. Check our class schedule to see available times.

Studio Room: Availability depends on how many private and semi-private sessions are booked at that time.

How It Works:

  • Contact us in advance to book your self-practice session

  • Provide your name and Polestar student number

  • Confirm you have a mentorship package or will pay the single session fee

  • Check in with the front desk (name and student number) before your session

Contact Iso Fit: https://isofit.com.hk/contact-us/

1.2 Practice Teaching Sessions

What's Included: Access to studio space and equipment to practice your teaching skills with practice clients.

You Can Bring Your Own Practice Clients: You may bring practice clients to the studio (friends/family/fellow students). Please be respectful of space and studio operations.

Required for All Practice Clients:

  • Must sign the Iso Fit waiver BEFORE the session starts (Note: Practice clients sign the standard client waiver, not the Polestar Mentorship Terms and Conditions)
  • Must purchase a mentorship package or pay the single session fee
  • Session time and date must be confirmed with the front desk in advance

For Regular Practice Clients: If your practice client will be joining you for multiple sessions over an extended period, they can purchase their own mentorship package for better value instead of paying single session fees each time.

Important Note: You may not charge fees to persons you teach during supplementary mentoring hours.

1.3 Class Observation

What's Included: Observe experienced instructors teaching group classes to learn teaching methodology, cueing techniques, and class management.

What You Can Observe:

  • Mat Course Students: Can observe Mat group classes

  • Reformer Course Students: Can observe Reformer group classes

  • Comprehensive Course Students: Can observe both Mat and Reformer group classes

Observation Capacity:

  • Full class: Only one observer can be accommodated

  • Less than full capacity: Multiple observers may be accommodated

Teacher Approval Required: The ultimate decision regarding observation access rests with the class instructor. This ensures the learning experience isn't compromised for paying clients.

How to Arrange: Contact us several hours in advance: https://isofit.com.hk/contact-us/

Provide:

  • Your name and Polestar student number

  • The specific class you'd like to observe (date and time)

  • Your course enrollment (Mat, Reformer, or Comprehensive)

Check Class Schedule: https://www.isofit.com.hk/fees-and-schedule

1.4 Practice Exam Access

What's Included: Access to official practice exams available at Iso Fit to sharpen your exam preparation and build confidence.

Supervision is Mandatory: Practice exams can only be accessed under the supervision of a mentor or Iso Fit staff member. This ensures exam materials are used appropriately and returned in good condition.

Materials Must Be Returned: All practice exam materials must be returned immediately after use. These resources are shared among all Polestar students.

How to Access:

Coordinate through:

  • Your Polestar mentor, OR

  • Iso Fit front desk staff

Contact us to schedule: https://isofit.com.hk/contact-us/

Be sure to provide your Polestar student number when requesting access.

Unsupervised Activities: Important Guidelines

Required Supervision: An Iso Fit teacher or staff member must be present in the studio at all times during unsupervised activities. Unsupervised sessions may not take place unless there is staff present.

Sharing Space with Paying Clients: When using the studio at the same time as fee-paying Iso Fit clients, please be mindful that paying clients have priority access to space and equipment.

Being Considerate Means:

  • Keep your practice area compact and organized

  • Be aware of noise levels when others are in session

  • Quickly transition between equipment when space is needed

  • Maintain a professional, courteous presence

  • Be prepared to adjust your practice if equipment or space is needed by paying clients

  • Please respect instructions from any Iso Fit staff (teacher or front desk)

Studio Care: Please always clean up after yourself - make sure to leave the studio and equipment in the same condition as you found it.

Session Limits: Maximum 2 unsupervised sessions per day (as per Terms & Conditions).

Frequently Asked Questions

Eligibility and Timeline Questions

Q: When do my student services begin?

Your access to services begins immediately upon registration for a Polestar course. You don't need to wait until your course starts—you can begin purchasing packages or using services right after registering.

Q: When do my student services end?

Your access to services remains active as long as you maintain one of these statuses:

  • Actively enrolled in a current course

  • Registered for an upcoming course

  • Registered for an upcoming certification exam

Q: How do I verify my student status?

Provide your Polestar student number when contacting Iso Fit to arrange any service. We will verify your current enrollment status in our database.

Q: I've completed my course but haven't scheduled my exam yet. Can I still use the services?

Yes, we can make allowances in this case. We understand that sometimes the exam you're planning to take is not yet ready to accept registrations. This will be based on an honor system that you are planning on taking the next exam.

Q: I'm taking a break between course modules. Do my services continue?

Yes, as long as you remain registered for your upcoming course modules, your access to services continues during breaks between modules. This allows you to maintain and build your skills between training sessions.

Q: What happens if I withdraw from my course?

If you withdraw, you will not be considered a current student and are no longer eligible for the Mentorship programme.

Unsupervised Activities Questions

Q: What's the difference between unsupervised and supervised activities?

Unsupervised activities are self-directed sessions where you work independently without direct educator instruction. A staff member is present in the studio for safety, but not actively teaching you. These include self-practice, practice teaching, observation, and practice exam access.

Supervised activities involve direct instruction from an authorized Polestar educator or mentor who actively guides your learning, provides feedback, and structures your session.

Q: Do I need to buy a mentorship package to access unsupervised activities?

No, you can pay for single sessions if you prefer. However, mentorship packages offer better value and unlimited access to all unsupervised activities during the validity period. Packages are available on monthly payment contracts through Mindbody.

Q: Can I bring my own practice clients for teaching practice sessions?

Yes, you can bring practice clients (friends/family/fellow students). However, all practice clients must sign the Iso Fit waiver BEFORE the session starts and must purchase a package or pay the single session fee.

Q: Can I bring a friend or fellow student with me for self-practice?

Yes, you can. However, please let us know ahead of time—all sessions need to be approved by our front desk. Additionally, all such persons need to sign a waiver BEFORE the start of any session and must purchase a package or pay the single session fee.

Q: Can I purchase a mentorship package for a friend/family member who will be my practice client?

Yes, if your practice client will be joining you regularly for multiple sessions, they can purchase their own mentorship package instead of paying single session fees each time. This is often more cost-effective for regular practice clients.

Requirements for Practice Client Package Holders:

  • They must have their own Mindbody client profile
  • They must sign the standard Iso Fit client waiver form (online waiver)
  • They do NOT need to sign the Polestar Mentorship Terms and Conditions (that's only for Polestar students)
  • All sessions must still be booked in advance with the front desk
Note: The practice client's package provides them access to join you for practice teaching sessions, but they cannot use studio facilities independently - they can only participate as your practice client during your booked sessions.

Q: How many unsupervised sessions can I do per day?

Maximum 2 unsupervised sessions per day (as per Terms & Conditions).

Q: What if I arrive for my booked session and the studio is busier than expected?

In the unfortunate situation that this occurs, please note that studio clients have first priority.

Supervised Activities Questions

Q: How do I book a supervised mentorship session?

Contact an authorized Polestar educator or mentor directly to coordinate your session. Payment must be made in advance of the activity.

Q: Can I choose which educator I work with?

Yes, you can work with any authorized Polestar educator or mentor. A full list of mentors can be found on the Polestar website.

Q: How do review and exam workshops differ from regular supervised sessions?

Review and exam workshops are group sessions focused specifically on exam preparation, where educators review course material. They are scheduled by the educator and announced in advance, with set pricing typically lower than individual private sessions.

Group Class Discount Questions

Q: Why can I only book discounted classes 4 hours in advance?

This policy ensures full-paying clients can secure their preferred class times while still offering you significant savings. If you need advance booking flexibility, consider purchasing a 10% discounted package instead.

Q: Can I use my 50% student discount to buy a class package?

No, the 50% walk-in discount cannot be used for package purchases. However, you can purchase packages at 10% off, which provides advance booking ability.

Q: Can I use the discounted group class rate and then stay for self-practice afterward?

As long as this has been booked with reception, you can do this.

Q: Can I book both Mat and Reformer classes at 50% off?

Only if you're enrolled in the Comprehensive course. Mat students get 50% off Mat classes only, and Reformer students get 50% off Reformer classes only.

Pricing and Terms Questions

Q: Where can I find current pricing?

See the attached pricing document at the bottom of this page, or contact us at https://isofit.com.hk/contact-us/ to confirm pricing. Or direct link here

Q: What are the Terms and Conditions for mentorship services?

All students must read and accept the [Polestar Mentorship Terms and Conditions] before accessing services. This includes payment policies, cancellation requirements, package terms, and studio rules.

Q: Can I access the studio on holidays or during special closure periods?

As long as this has been booked with reception and there is a teacher present in the studio, you can do this.
